Fifth Avenue Suites Hotel
506 Sw Washington St, Portland, Portland,
Although arrangements were made prior to my arrival, I was incredibly pleased with the selection. The hotel is located in the downtown area, close to restaurants, shops, and life. Hotel staff were extremely helpful in recommending places to dine and arranging car service. I had the great fortune of returning to the hotel early one evening to the delight of a wine tasting and martini hour. The rooms are large and decorated with a funky-hip design. I really enjoyed the french doors that seperated the sleeping and sitting areas. The hotel robes are inviting after a hot shower in the huge bathroom which has all the proper aminities; and the bedding was superb!...complete with egyptian sheets. The room service menu options are a wonderful break from the traditional, and the food is delicious. I did not get to experience the spa, but I will next time...and there most certainly will be a next time. I plan to recommend this hotel to my travel clientele. A. Hilton Portland & Executive Tower
921 Sw 6th Ave, Portland, Portland,
Stayed here one night in summer of 2006. The taxi brought me to the front door of the hotel, and when I went inside they looked me up on the computer and said I was in their other hotel located down the street. Just be aware that this hotel is actually two different buildings---about a block away and on the other side of the street. I was on their "exectutive" level in the newer building, and it was very nice. Modern, clean, nice rooms--no complaints. It's also centrally located, and is within the free fare zone of Portland's light rail system ("Max") and transit buses. If you're going to Union Station for Amtrak, take any bus out front--they are all heading to the end of the line next to Union Station. Can't beat that!

Hotel Lucia
400 Sw Broadway, Portland, Portland,
Portland is one of our favorite cities. Despite the sometimes crummy weather, it's a fun place to hang out and shop. The Hotel Lucia puts you right in the middle of all the action. You're only blocks from Pioneer Square, the Pearl District, and the Waterfront. The hotel has comfy beds, a selection of pillows, and an attentive, but young staff. The bar downstairs is awesome with a well-educated bartender who loves to chat about all the spirits he offers in this fun establishment. Room service is quick and the food is good. The only complaint is that they still charge for wireless service. Otherwise, this hotel comes highly recommended!

Hotel Mallory
729 Sw 15th Ave, Portland, Portland,
On a recent visit to Portland my wife and I had the opportunity to stay in three downtown hotels. We began our visit at the Marriott. Flawless. Then we spent two nights at the Sheraton. It wasn't the Marriott, but the cost was about thirty percent less. Our final two nights were at the Hotel deLuxe. This is a beautiful classic hotel wonderfully restored with impeccable service and quality. Although comparable to the Marriott in price, it lacked the location and views that the Marriott and Sheraton both offered. The final factor was that if you plan to avail yourself of room service, BEWARE. Nothing was "included" with breakfast and, in general, room service ran nearly double what we'd experienced elsewhere. Between parking and room service we spent more than an additional nights stay. In short, it was an enjoyable stay, not to be repeated.
